Deschutes River Cleanup

Join us on July 27th for the 2024 Deschutes River Cleanup!

We want to give a HUGE thank you to all of our incredible Deschutes River Cleanup volunteers who came out for this past year’s event! We had a fantastic day of river stewardship on July 29th with over 200 volunteers joining us to help clean debris from the streambanks and out of the river itself. They also pulled truckloads of invasive weeds out of the sensitive riparian areas next to the river. We successfully coordinated riparian and instream cleanup activities at five different sites along the Deschutes River, and thanks to their commitment to take care of our river, our dedicated volunteers braved the smoke and heat to remove over 2,500 pounds of litter and weeds! We couldn’t have done it without their help and can’t wait for another day of stewardship this year!

One more round of kudos to this past year’s title sponsors: Bend Park and Recreation District, CarStickersCity of Bend, Mount Bachelor/Sun Country ToursSOLV EnergyTumalo Creek, and Visit Bend. It was great to have many of their staff out with us on the river pulling weeds, encouraging volunteers, and distributing water to our hard-working helpers. We cannot thank them enough for their ongoing support of our river cleanup efforts and for stepping up as fabulous stream stewards.

Thank you again to our volunteers, sponsors, site hosts, and in-kind supporters for all that you do to protect our rivers and streams. We hope you can join us for another great day of stewardship this July 27th!
