Each year, we host and collaborate on events that bring our community together, celebrate our supporters, and highlight the impact of our work. From student presentations to our Annual River Cleanup, there are countless ways to get involved and witness the positive changes happening throughout the Upper Deschutes River watershed.
Deschutes River Cleanup
A day for volunteers as we take care of our river by removing trash and invasive plant species from the river and its surrounding areas. Volunteers of all ages can come to support our river cleanup efforts throughout multiple sites along the Deschutes River each summer!
Spend a day in the creek with Upper Deschutes Watershed Council collecting essential information on stream health. Learn about this unique volunteer opportunity along Whychus Creek in Sisters and how you can make a difference in our restoration effectiveness monitoring!
Students Speak: A Watershed Summit is a chance for students who have been a part of our education programs to share with each other and the community the work they have done and they things they have learned. Students of all ages present their scientific research, artwork, creative writing, and restoration projects in a professional conference-style event.
Each year, our Watershed Speaker Series bring together experts, community members, and conservationists to explore critical topics related to our local waterways. Through engaging presentations and discussions, we highlight issues such as water conservation, habitat restoration, climate resilience, and community stewardship. Join us to learn, connect, and take action for the health of our watershed!
"Rolling up my sleeves and helping with the noble work that the UDWC is doing is an antidote of sorts. Something positive that I can do and it matters more than ever."
